About Me & The Sassy Petal
I am Brittany, the owner and designer of The Sassy Petal.
I have been a Florist for sooo many years (15 yrs) and since have started dabbling into the resin and floral preservation side of the industry to feed my soul with a creative outlet but keeping my theme of floral fanatic.

I LOVE a good challenge, especially if it's got a creative side to it, and I also don't take life too seriously. I love a good laugh and I'm a sucker for a great Dad joke!

I have a beautiful family, my daughter Brooke and my ride or die, lover for life Andy. We enjoy taking our crazy red head to the pump tracks/skate parks, shooting the zombies with the water guns at the local funhouse (haha), aaaaalllways down for a cocktail or schneaky wine and we like to go on adventures whenever life allows us to.

My Floral Journey....

With over 15 years of experience, my journey as a florist began humbly working in a local flower shop where I began washing buckets, conditioning flowers, spending countless hours in the coldroom (brrr luckily we are based in the sunshine state), delivering flowers throughout the hospital where I began my Floristry Traineeship. As I trained through tafe and practised my skills on the job I entered a few competitions along the way. I took 2nd in the Rising Star competition held at Southbank, 1st place in the Horti-Coutoure competition held by the Friends of the Botanical - Side note, I made a very fancy wedding dress out of nothing but plant life and chicken wire, strapped it onto my good friend Beth and sent her round and round the Japanese Garden section of the mount coot botanical gardens where she was OOO and AAAAh by many people. It was a breathtaking experience and I was lucky enough to actually win! YAY! I then went on and took a few 1st, 2nds and 3rds and sometimes no win at all at the Ekka over the years.

As I toddled along on my flower filled dream, my love for the art and nature FLOURISHED as I worked my way through lots of well known Brisbane Florists and was lucky enough to have worked along side some of the most incredibly talented people, I feel like I've learnt from the best.
I am not afraid to get a little dirty or pretty much work all night long finishing final touches and creating those masterpieces for the big weddings and events. There has been many many nights in this floral filled life where my fingers hurt and I couldn't bare to pick up another stem, but I carried on, giggling and singing my way through all nighters with my work colleagues, sipping back a few bevvys and counting how many orders we had left haha (Good ol Valentines Day!).
Today, as the proud owner of my own little blossoming business The Sassy Petal, my passion for flowers continues to inspire my work, allowing me to create stunning arrangements that capture the essence of each couple’s love story or cherished moments to remember forever.

I just really like making people smile even when it may be too hard.. I believe that my purpose lies in bringing happiness to others, whether through meticulously crafted floral arrangements or through the preservation of those moments where flowers just made them smile instead of cry. Every day, I find inspiration in the joy reflected in my client’s eyes and the heartfelt appreciation they share for my creations.
